Coreless direct drive ensures rotational stability

Direct drive turntables use a slow rotating motor to drive the platter. Such a system has many advantages: for example, high rotational accuracy and torque, which ensures the durability and reliability of the components. On the other hand, it is noted that direct drive systems are subject to torque ripple, an unfavorable phenomenon that causes uneven rotation. The SL-1210MK7 uses a new direct drive without a stator core. The absence of an iron core eliminates the root cause of torque ripple. In addition, the rotor magnets have been reinforced to the maximum and the distance from them to the coreless stator has been optimized. All this made it possible to achieve efficient operation with high torque at the level of the SL-1210MK5 model. Thanks to its smooth rotation and high torque, such a drive allows you to faithfully reproduce the sound read from the track of the old recording.

Torque control and braking speed

New digital motor control technology, born from the development of Blu-ray Disc players, allows you to adjust the torque and braking speed in four steps, thereby expanding the customization options.

Pitch control function

This feature allows fine-tuning of ±8/16% speed digitally, from slider position to engine speed control, eliminating the need for additional D/A conversion. All this greatly increases the control efficiency for accurate and stable pitch tuning.

Reverse playback function

New to the SL-1210, this feature opens up new possibilities for creativity. Speeds of rotation 33-1/3, 45, and also 78 rpm are supported.

Highly sensitive tonearm

The tone arm, the main component of DJ equipment, has a time-tested, highly reliable S-shape that provides static balance. Precision bearings give the tonearm more sensitivity than the SL-1210MK6. This allows it to accurately follow the groove on the record with minimal stylus jumps, even under extreme conditions such as scratching.

Illumination of the needle with a bright and durable white LED

Needle illumination is now provided by a bright white LED, intuitively activated by pressing a button. The area and intensity of illumination have been increased so that the tip of the needle is visible even in the dark.

Connectors for power cables and audio equipment

The device has connectors for connecting power cables and audio equipment. Audio equipment connectors are gold-plated, which reduces the degradation of sound quality. The ability to disconnect cables simplifies maintenance.

Robust housing and vibration-resistant shock absorber

The body design, the most important part of the device for damping vibration, uses technologies for professional turntables that improve sound quality. A special, high-strength mix of ABS and fiberglass is rigidly bonded to the die-cast aluminum frame to form a two-layer construction: this combination increases the strength and damping characteristics of the unit, allowing for faithful sound reproduction. The vibration damper consists of a spring and rubber to provide optimum frequency response. This not only enhances sound quality and mic-effect protection, but also protects against external vibrations in noisy environments.
