Description Acoustic system Technics SB-C600E-K
The Technics SB-C600E-K two-way bookshelf speaker is part of the Premium C600 line and uses many of the technical know-how borrowed from the SB-G90M2 floorstanding speaker. The model can be called a modern projection of the very first product released under the Technics brand in 1965, the compact bookshelf speaker EAB-1204.
Advanced Phase Precision Driver
The main feature of the Technics SB-C600E-K is the use of a coaxial Phase Precision Driver, which includes two coaxial drivers - a 152 mm mid/bass driver and a 25 mm dome tweeter integrated into its center. This design is as close as possible to a point source of sound, since the emitters here are perfectly aligned with each other in phase, i.e. with this configuration, minimal phase shifts between different lengths of sound waves are guaranteed.
Twitter
The tweeter is equipped with a curly "bullet" Linear Phase Plug, which performs the functions of a phase equalizer, and, according to the manufacturer, allows you to increase the resolution and provide a wide sound stage. The dome of the tweeter and the diffuser of the midrange/woofer emitter are made of aluminum with a special anodized coating (alumite). The midwoofer cone with smooth, even edges acts as a shallow waveguide for the tweeter, ensuring a minimum amount of reflections. As a result, it is possible to obtain a spherical wave with aligned fronts, and thanks to the coaxial design, a clear and precise localization of sound images in space is guaranteed.
Midwoofer diffuser
The midwoofer cone with smooth, even edges acts as a shallow waveguide for the tweeter, ensuring a minimum amount of reflections. As a result, it is possible to obtain a spherical wave with aligned fronts, and thanks to the coaxial design, a clear and precise localization of sound images in space is guaranteed.
Phase inverter
The bass reflex hole is located on the front panel of the Technics SB-C600E-K and has a special, carefully calculated geometry, which eliminates the turbulence of the outgoing airflow and gets rid of the high-frequency noise characteristic of conventional bass reflex ports. The front panel of the case is covered with a matte paint mixed with a special powder to obtain an elegant matte surface. The crossover uses high-quality components, including polypropylene capacitors, OFC copper wires, etc. On the back of the speaker there is a pair of screw terminals made of brass.
Balanced driver mounting architecture
Balanced Driver Mounting Architecture (BDMA) provides an original way to install a coaxial driver, which is attached to the internal baffle of the case, located behind the front panel. This technical solution, according to Technics, allows you to solve the problems associated with the influence of vibrations and resonances, and the internal baffle also increases the rigidity of the case. In the process of developing and optimizing BDMA, CAE was used - a set of software packages designed to solve various engineering problems (calculations, analysis, simulation of physical processes).
